Mari Caulfield is a Speech and Language Therapist and Trainer with over 37 years experience in the areas of generalised speech and language disorders, developmental delays and disorders, intellectual disability and autism. She is a member of the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT), Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Private Practice (ISTI), Royal college of Speech and Language Therapists, UK, (RCSLT) and is registered by the Health Professional Council (HPC) in UK.
Together with ongoing specialized speech, language and communication courses such as PROMPT, Hanen Training courses, Speech sound Disorders, Derbyshire Language Scheme, Auditory processing disorder, Mari has also trained in the areas of LAMH Tutoring, ADOS assessment, SCERTS, Dysphagia, Montessori, Psychotherapy, Sensory integration and Early Childhood and Infancy Training.
Mari has worked in a variety of clinical and management roles in health care organisations and voluntary bodies in Ireland. Working collaboratively with team members, including other therapists, medical professionals, educators and parents, Mari encourages the sharing of experience and expertise amongst team members to ensure optimum quality of intervention for the child and family. Mari lectures at NUI Galway with Speech and Language Therapy and Clinical Psychology courses and offers annual training with the Department of Education, Special Education Support service, Down Syndrome Ireland and with Sensory Connections in Australia.
A Faculty member of Profectum, USA, Mari liaises and teaches with international colleagues and has been honored by her peers when she received a 2009 DIR/ Faculty Award in recognition of her research and ongoing contribution to DIR® education with ICDL.
